What Is Planet Clicker?

Planet Clicker is a single-player incremental game created by Coltroc in Scratch. Your objective is to generate energy, improve production, and expand from Earth to Mars and Venus. The challenge is deciding when to buy another upgrade and when to save toward the next planet.

Energy is both your spending currency and the number you are trying to grow. Buying something reduces your current balance, but a productive purchase helps you rebuild that balance faster. You can play actively by clicking or let purchased generators produce energy while the game runs.

How to Play Planet Clicker

  1. Click Earth to earn energy. You begin with one energy for each accepted click.
  2. Open the Shop. Check the price and effect of the available upgrades before spending.
  3. Improve your clicks. The first Earth Clicker purchase costs 20 energy and doubles your clicking power.
  4. Buy automatic production. Your first Campfire costs 100 energy and adds one energy per second.
  5. Build toward the next planet. Use the arrows beside the planet name to view other worlds and their unlock prices.
  6. Expand your upgrade choices. Buy Mars for one million energy, then work toward Venus and its later technology.

Watch both your available energy and the per-second production figure. A bigger balance makes purchases possible; a stronger production rate makes the next balance easier to earn.

The Shop contains more items than fit on one screen, so use its scrollbar to inspect the lower upgrades. In Player Stats, you can check time played, total energy, energy spent, and clicks. Total energy and your current spendable balance measure different things.

Clicking Upgrades and Automatic Energy

There are two important ways to strengthen your production. Clicking upgrades increase what you earn when you press the planet. Automatic generators add energy every second without requiring repeated clicks.

On Earth, buying the first Earth Clicker changes your clicks from one energy to two. The following purchase costs 60 energy, so the first price does not stay fixed. Read the current price each time rather than assuming another purchase will cost the same amount.

Generators provide a different benefit. A Campfire adds one energy per second, while a Farm adds ten. Later choices include Animal Farms, Windmills, and Factories. Buying more production lets your balance grow while you inspect the Shop or move between planet screens.

Automation does not make clicking pointless. Stronger clicking upgrades remain useful later, especially when you continue playing actively. Compare the return from the way you actually play: a click multiplier needs clicks to deliver its benefit, while a generator produces energy over time.

Unlocking Earth, Mars, and Venus

This version has three planets. You start on Earth and use energy to purchase access to Mars and Venus. Switching screens with an arrow is separate from unlocking the planet: a locked world still needs its Buy purchase before you can develop it.

Earth: Build Your First Energy Supply

Earth introduces the basic tradeoff between clicking power and automatic output. An early click upgrade helps you earn the first few purchases, while Campfires and Farms start your automatic production.

As prices rise, inspect the rest of the Shop. Animal Farms, Windmills, and Factories offer larger production increases, but they also require more energy. Choose purchases that help you build toward the one-million-energy Mars unlock.

Mars: Expand Your Production

Mars costs one million energy to unlock. Its Shop introduces Mars Clicker, Solar Panels, Oil Mines, Coal Power Plants, Nuclear Power Plants, and Alien Technology.

These options increase the scale of your decisions. Check each purchase against your current output instead of buying only the cheapest item or waiting indefinitely for the most expensive one. You can revisit earlier planets to inspect their upgrades as the same run continues.

Venus: Work Toward Future Technology

Venus costs one trillion energy to unlock. Its upgrade path includes Venus Clicker, Iron Mines, Lava Power Plants, and Future Technology.

Future Technology is the highest-tier generator in this three-planet game. Each purchase adds one trillion energy per second. Reaching it is a major progression milestone, but you can continue buying production and increasing your energy afterward.

Planet Clicker Tips for Faster Progress

  • Give early clicks a purpose. Use them to reach a useful click upgrade or your first generator, rather than collecting energy without a purchase in mind.
  • Compare price with added production. A new kind of generator can offer better value than another increasingly expensive copy of an older one.
  • Keep your play style in the calculation. Clicking upgrades can pay off quickly during active play. Automatic output is useful when you take a break from clicking.
  • Plan a planet unlock. When the next world is within reach, consider whether another purchase will help you get there sooner or delay the unlock.
  • Read the lower Shop entries. Scrolling reveals options you would miss by looking only at the first few cards.
  • Continue checking clicking power. Later planets offer stronger multipliers; do not assume manual clicks stop mattering once you have generators.

A useful estimate for an automatic generator is its price divided by the extra energy per second it adds. For example, the first Campfire costs 100 energy and adds one per second, so it takes about 100 seconds to generate its purchase cost. This is a comparison tool, not a rule that overrides every planet unlock or clicking upgrade.

Saving Progress and Leaving the Game Running

This version of Planet Clicker does not save your progress. Refreshing the page starts a new run on Earth with zero energy. Keep that in mind before reloading, closing the game, or moving to another device.

Automatic production works while the game is running. It is different from a saved game that calculates rewards when you return later. Keep the session open if you want its generators to continue, although a browser that suspends or closes an inactive tab can interrupt play.

Choose a manageable goal for the session, such as unlocking Mars or buying your first Future Technology. Reaching a milestone is more useful than relying on a run being there after a refresh.

Planet Clicker FAQ

Can You Beat Planet Clicker?

Unlocking Venus and buying Future Technology are major milestones in this version. You can continue purchasing upgrades and generating energy afterward, so reaching the last planet does not stop the run.

What Is the Highest Energy in Planet Clicker?

Future Technology is the highest-tier automatic generator, adding one trillion energy per second for each purchase. That is a production rate rather than a maximum balance. You can keep accumulating energy beyond the amount needed to unlock every planet.

Is This Planet Clicker 2?

No. This is the three-planet Planet Clicker game, with Earth, Mars, and Venus. Planet Clicker 2 and similarly named remixes are separate versions, so their planets and upgrades should not be assumed to appear here.

Is Planet Clicker Free to Play Without a Download?

Yes. You can play this browser game for free without installing a separate game application.

Conclusion

Planet Clicker turns a few clicks on Earth into a much larger energy system. Balance clicking upgrades with automatic production, compare purchases as prices rise, and work toward Mars, Venus, and Future Technology. Start with your first Earth Clicker upgrade, and keep the session open while you build toward your next planet.
